Security Officer (PA)
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Savvot is seeking a reliable and vigilant Unarmed Security Officer to safeguard personnel, property, and assets in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. The Security Officer will monitor premises, control access, deter unauthorized activity, and respond to incidents in accordance with company policies and site-specific procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to monitor for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and access points; verify identification and authorize entry per site protocol.
  • Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarm panels, and access control software.
  • Write clear, accurate incident and activity reports for each shift.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and notify appropriate personnel or authorities.
  • Enforce site rules, company policies, and applicable laws in a professional, de-escalatory manner.
  • Conduct security checks of doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and tenants with directions, information, and safety concerns.
  • Provide first-response support in medical emergencies, fires, or evacuations, including basic first aid if certified.
  • Maintain a visible, professional presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum age 18 (21+ may be required for some sites).
  • Valid state security guard license/registration, or ability to obtain one.
  • Clean background check; no disqualifying criminal history.
  • Valid driver's license (if patrol vehicle use is required).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Experience with CCTV and access control systems.
  • Customer service experience in a public-facing role.
  • Bilingual abilities a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods (up to full shift length).
  • Ability to climb stairs and walk long distances across a facility or campus.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, if applicable.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to monitor surroundings and security equipment.
Work Environment

Duties may be performed indoors or outdoors, depending on assigned post. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Some posts may require prolonged periods of standing or sitting in a guard booth or control room.
